  • 225g Homepride Self Raising flour
  • 225g golden caster sugar
  • 225g unsalted butter
  • 55g Homepride Plain flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 60g ground almonds
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 3 tbsps cherry jam
  • 100g chopped glace Morello cherries

1. Cream together the butter and golden caster sugar

2. Add in the eggs and mix

3. Add in the Homepride self raising flour, Homepride plain flour and ground almonds and mix well

4. Add almond extract, chopped Morello cherries and mix

 5. Pour half the mix into lined 10 x 8 tin

6. Spoon on the cherry jam in random blobs

7. Add rest of the mixture on top and swirl through with a skewer to swirl in the jam

8. Bake at 140C for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown


Once cooled top with a layer of glacier or fondant icing and Morello cherries. Cut into squares and enjoy!
